If I didn’t know these earrings were created in a New York studio, I would think they came from ancient Byzantium. The perfectly imperfect lines surrounding the opals, moon and star motifs as well as the pile-up of gold beading are typical elements of jewelry from the ancient era. These details are also what gives the pieces character. A dreamy night and day theme adds romance and reminds me of another era in history: Cole Porter’s 1932 lyric, “Night and day, you are the one. Only you beneath the moon and under the sun.” Click here to see who designed these celestial danglers!
